Victoria Falls, a feature length screenplay written by Gloria Huwiler, currently in development was selected for the Urucu Realness Residency, B3 talent lab and Atelier 2019. The film examines the experiences of a dysfuctional multiracial family in modern day Zambia.
Gloria Huwiler worked with Director Rungano Nyoni's on her stunning debut feature I'm not a Witch set in Zambia. The film premiered at the Director's Fortnight in Cannes 2017, and went on to Sundance, Toronto, and London Film Festival. The won several British Independant Film Awards as well as a BAFTA for best newcomer.
Dancing in a circle of flames and breathing fire, Gloria Huwiler played the romantic interest of the protagonist in Mete's Sozer's independent feature debut And the Circus Leaves Town. The film premiered at Warsaw Film Festival and went on to win several awards on the festival circuit.
Angst, directed by Nunzio Fazio was Gloria Huwiler's debut screenplay in which she also performed. The short film premiered at the Oscar qualifying LA Short Film Festival, and won various prizes including the Freak award at Aguilar de Campoo and Best Short Film at Milano International Film Festival.
Alone, co-directed with visual artist Raif Kurt examines the nature of connection in an increasingly virtual and digital world. Gloria Huwiler wrote and performed in the short piece, ironically, created specifically to be shared online.
